About the game development industry
Adelaide is a leading incubator for world-class game development. While the local industry is relatively small, it is creating innovative, chart- topping content and becoming internationally renowned for the quality of its product.
In addition to its burgeoning independent game development sector, South Australia has strengths and a well-deserved reputation for innovation in cutting edge technology such as virtual, augmented and mixed reality applications, film production, and visual effects.
The game development industry is uniquely placed at the intersection of entertainment and technology, employing many science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) graduates. It also boosts opportunities for creatives across film, music composition, screen writing and animation.
